Brass wavy cuff with Welo (Ethiopian) Opal. Cuff is made from 10 gauge brass wire that I formed and hammered with line accents. Brass will oxidize with everyday wear. It’s an amazing metal but does require regular cleaning to get its shine back, polishing cloth included with order! Overtime it will acclimate to your body chemistry. Keep in mind that it can leave a mark on your wrist if exposed to water or sweat. It’s the copper content in the metal that does this, yet it’s nickel free! It cleans up in seconds with the cloth.
Additional notes: With this stone, I recommended taking off when showering or entering any kind of water. This will prevent tarnish of the brass too! Ethiopian opal is a hydroplane meaning It’s made from water. Therefore it will absorb any chemicals and water it is exposed to, causing discoloration or cracking over time. As you can see in the pic, there is an inclusion in the stone already. It is not a crack, I double checked with my loop but it has been priced accordingly due to this flaw. Crazy flash in the sun!!
Sizing notes: The total circumference length of this cuff is 6.75 inches, 5.5” cuff, 1.25” opening. Fits a size small to medium wrist. I have a 6.5 inch wrist and it fits me comfortably with some room. Cuff sizing is a personal preference. I do make the opening larger to make it easy to take on and off. You can synch and shape a cuff to your wrist if needed, making it smaller. BUT keep in mind the more you bend it, the more you are “work hardening” the crystals in the metal alloy, making it more brittle and stressing it to break/snap. This only happens if you are opening it way too much, which is a sizing issue. Please let me know if the cuff isn’t fitting right and we can do an exchange or I can make one similar in your size! To find wrist size, use a string and wrap it loosely around your wrist, make sure it’s not too tight. Then lay string out with a ruler, that should roughly give you your overall circumference.
